Less than 7 weeks left

Well, I am down to less than 7 weeks left before the next surgery. I have made my appointments to donate blood to myself. I go in Dec 15 and 22 for donating. I haven't heard yet when my pre-op visit will be, but I think it is going to be the day before my actual surgery. Because I just had surgery and all of the pre op stuff less than 6 months ago they are much more relaxed about when I go in because they already know I am healthy enough for the surgery. I have a few more skiing days before I go in, but I am stopping skiing with 2 weeks before surgery so I don't get sick. I am also going to stop visiting the children's hospital at the same time, also for the sickness factor. Winter in a kids hospital is not the best place to be if styaing healthy is your goal. Until then, I am still going each week to visit the kids in the cancer and bone marrow transplant unit with Armstrong. Most of my regular kids I have been visitng have gone home and are doing well so I am starting to get a bunch of new kids. We visited this little 4 year old girl 2 weeks ago on the day she was diagnosed. She was put inpatient to start getting her chemo so Armstrong helped to make her less scared. Sometimes it is depressing visiting the kids, especially when you know they are not going to survive, but the good stuff outweighs the bad and that is what makes us keep going back. I was at a funeral a few weeks ago for an 8 year old boy that we visited with almost every week for 15 months. It was so sad because it was the first child I was really close to that passed away. I just thought I would do a quick update on how things are going. The weather has been overcast for a few days so my hip is a little stiff, but all in all I am doing well. I will update again soon.
