A successful Doggie Day

Well, yesterday was my 4th annual Walk, Wag, and Swim that I put on. It is a walk and swim at our outdoor pool to celebrate the end of summer and raise money for No More Homless Pets. We had about 280 dogs come this year, which is almost double what I had last year. You know you have a big pool when 280 dogs is not overcrowded in the pool area. I think next year we will split the swim into two different times so we can have even more dogs. The news was there, as well as one of the newspapers. Here are the links to the stories they did.

On the deseret news article, make sure you click on the link for the video becasue it is really cute. I always feel so good when this event is done because people come from all over the area for it. When I hear that people drove an hour or so just to come to something I put on, it makes me feel so good. That is also the reason I have been pushing myself so hard lately carrying things and just being on my feet so much. I have been hurting pretty bad the past couple of days, but after the event yesterday I took a painkiller and went to bed. Between the nap yesterday afternoon and sleeping until noon today, I have almost recovered. I knew it would be hard to put on an event like this only 3 months after my surgery, but I am very happy with how it turned out. Now, I can rest, relax, and let me hip calm down a little before it is time to start working on the halloween party. At least with the halloween party it is not all me. I am just the helper not the head of the event like with doggie day. Now, it is time to go back and take a nap. My boys are both completely exhausted from yesterday so they have been sleeping more than I have, which is nice because I can sleep easier when they are not up playing.
