8 weeks- I am walking now

So, it is my 8 week point and I am walking most of the time now. I still keep the crutches close by just in case I get tired or sore, but I am walking everywhere now. I will see the surgeon on Wed. so i hope he doesn't mind that I am not on crutches anymore. The hip feels good, though the muscles start to hurt if I do too much. Last night I did a friends water aerobics class and it went okay. There were a lot of things I couldn't do so I just did a walking motion with the upper body stuff in the class. I couldn't be happier with where I am at in this recovery. I know that I am lucky that it has gone as well as it has. If I keep progressing as well as I am now, I may be able to have Armstrong back visiting the kids at the hospital in the next few weeks. I have missed that so much, and Armstrong has missed it. Well, Wednesday is the big day so I am going to go do some more rehab so I can try to be mostly rid of the limp when I see the doc.

Good for you, Shelley! You've been doing awesome! My favorite part of recovery was weeks 8-12 ... so much progress! Keep up the good work!

Hi Shelley
Sounds like you are doing so so well.

I am hoping that you will help spread the word. Myself and another hip sister have been working hard on an article on Hip Dysplasia and it was just published yesterday. It would be great if you'd link from your blog to it! Thanks Lauren
