Ready for surgery

Well, I am just about done getting ready for surgery. I picked up my crutches and reacher on Friday, and got the shower seat and the raised toilet seat last week. Also, my surgeon filled out my form for a handicap parking tag on Friday so i will go to the dmv on Monday to pick up the tag. I feel like I am stocking up for the apocolypse the way my spare room looks. I have 6 weks worth of dog food, about 25 2 liters of diet pepsi, as well as 3 cases of cans of diet pepsi. I also have a box of macaroni (I have no idea how many boxes are in that) and all kinds of packs of ready to make mashed potatoes. Everybody asks me what I eat so they can bring me food while I am laid up, but nobody seems to believe how little of an array of foods I eat. All in all, I am done. I will do a massive house cleaning on Wednesday because I won't be able to do it for awhile.
One of my friends will bring me to the hospital on Thursday and will stay there until i am in the recovery room. She will have my dads phone number so she can call him when I am out of surgery, so if you want an update he should know what is going on.
On a non surgery note, Ripken had his agility trial this weekend and he did okay. He was so close to winning one of his events on Saturday- he missed it by one point. Unfortunately, he also learned a fun game- run and jump out of the ring, then run around visiting people until someone catches him. My trainer will have to break that habit since he will be running him for the next 9-12 months. Well, that is all for now. I will update again on Wed. when I know my surgery time for Thurs. Bye for now.

So your surgery week is finally here.....glad to hear you are nearly finished with the prep - it sounds like you are ready for the great famine, but good to do that - you won't be traipsing through your local Safeway for awhile. Please take your good friends up on offers to bring over food......
you will need the help.
I'll be in touch with Bill following the surgery, and check out your blog. My little grandson also having surgery tomorrow (Friday) so we will be in Truckee with them to help out and try to keep an active 3-year old quiet post-op.
Take care, and I'll be in touch.
